Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Today we are throwing a big,
humongous bash to celebrate YOU!
Last year we blogged about our favorite non-school
related things, this year we have decided that we will share
with you our favorite school things!
So here we go:
My FAVORITE APP (so far)
This may not be a well-known app but I do ADORE
it. Doodle Buddy
is a FREE app.
Did I say FREE?
Yup, and it
doesn’t stink like so many other lite or free apps.
You can use it in a variety of ways. Essentially it is a blank slate. You may use
a stylus or your finger to make words and/or numbers. I have been using
this in my math technology center.
My kinders LOVE writing their numbers.
There are endless
possibilities for this app. You may write words in a word work center,
write sentences, pair up and write questions/answers with partners and that is
all that I can think of in one MINUTE. There
are so many ways to utilize this gold mine.
Math: fact fluency practice, word problems, counters,
rote counting, explain your thinking problems.
The list is ENDLESS.
Go get it now.
Hmmm… favorite
organizational tip, eh?
Well,
I consider myself pretty organized.
Picking just one would be hard.
I have a couple.
#1 Organize your CRAYONS PEOPLE!
I use this handy crayon tote from Lakeshore learning. It has truly kept my sanity intact. Well.... that is debatable.

#2 Keep track of your anecdotal
notes while your read with your students.
I use a guided reading notebook, a short little outline sheet, and jot down ideas, observations, and what we worked on
during the week. This way I can easily
access their progress and it keeps me on track.
Some
of my favorite things, personally.
Once again we want to treat you all to our favorite things!!! Check out these great prizes!

Love the Doodle Buddy app idea. Thank you for sharing! My kids are always losing their dry erase markers and this would be a fun alternative.
